Baked Cheese Toast

This Baked Cheese Sandwich is irresistibly delicious with a creamy cheese sauce and crunchy almonds on top.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices sandwich bread (about 3cm thick)
  • 160ml fresh milk
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 20g all-purpose flour
  • 15g sugar
  • 16g unsalted butter
  • 10g sliced almonds

Instructions

Step 1: Melt the butter in a pan and turn off the heat. Sift the flour into the pan and stir until there are no lumps.

Step 2: Add the milk and sugar. Stir gently in a clockwise direction over low heat until the mixture thickens, then turn off the heat.

Step 3: Add the cheddar cheese slices and continue stirring until the cheese is fully melted.

Step 4: Cut the sandwich bread into 4 pieces. Spread the cheese sauce over the surface of the bread, then sprinkle sliced almonds on top.

Step 5: Preheat the oven and bake at 180°C (356°F) for 20 minutes. Remove and enjoy while hot!
