For the filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup beef broth

For the sandwich:

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices sourdough or white bread
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

Optional garnish:

  • Chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

Step 1: Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it browns. Add onion and garlic, cooking until onion softens.

Step 2: Season with salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and beef broth. Simmer until broth reduces, leaving the beef moist and flavorful.

Step 3: Spread butter on one side of each bread slice. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.

Step 4: Place two slices of bread, butter side down, on the skillet.

Layer with cheddar cheese, beef mixture, mozzarella cheese, and top with the remaining bread, butter side up.

Step 5: Cook sandwiches for 3–4 minutes on each side, pressing gently until the bread is golden and the cheese melts.
