Picadillo and Beans

Hey, comfort food enthusiasts! Today, we’re diving into a soul-satisfying classic – Picadillo and Beans!  Picture perfectly seasoned ground meat, mingling with savory beans in a flavorful dance.

It’s a hearty embrace of home-cooked goodness that’ll warm your heart. Let’s dive into the delicious world of Picadillo and Beans!

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 lbs. ground meat of choice
  • 1tsp.EACH of salt, pepper, cumin, sazon, adobo–add more if necessary to your liking.
  • 1/2 onion diced
  • 2 roma tomatoes
  • 1 serrano diced(optional)
  • 1 jalapeño diced(optional)
  • 1-2 cups water

Instructions:

Cook ground meat thoroughly.

Remove excess grease

Add in diced veggies and seasonings. Mix well.

Add in water and let simmer for 30 mins or until veggies are tender.

You can also add in potatoes if you like as well and add more seasonings if needed. Enjoy!

PINTO BEANS RECIPE

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. of dry Pinto Beans
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • Chopped Cilantro(optional)
  • Diced onions, roma tomatoes and
  • jalapeños(optional)
  • Chopped Bacon (optional) save grease to add to Beans for flavor.

Instructions:

Wash and soak beans for 1 hour

place beans in pot adding the salt and start boiling on medium heat for a few hours.

While beans are cooking start cooking bacon.

When bacon is halfway done, add in your diced veggies and cook together until tender.

Add all veggies and bacon(plus grease)into beans and continue boiling until beans are tender.

Add more salt if necessary. Enjoy!
