Cinnamon Roll Poke Cake
This Cinnamon Roll Poke Cake is the perfect mix of cinnamon rolls and classic cake. With a soft vanilla base, rich cinnamon swirls, and a sweet glaze that soaks in, it’s a warm, comforting treat for any occasion!
- 1 box yellow or vanilla cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 3 large eggs
- ⅓ cup vegetable oil
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsps milk
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
Prepare the Cake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish. In a large bowl, mix the cake mix, water, eggs, and oil until smooth. Pour into the dish and spread evenly.
Make the Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Drop spoonfuls over the cake batter.
Swirl the Cinnamon: Use a knife or skewer to swirl the cinnamon mixture into the batter, creating a marbled effect. Avoid overmixing.
Bake the Cake: Bake for 28-32 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool for 15 minutes.
Poke the Cake: Using the end of a wooden spoon or skewer, poke holes all over the cake, making sure not to go through the bottom.
Add the Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Pour over the cake, letting it soak into the holes.
