Avocado Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Avocado Grilled Cheese Sandwich combines creamy avocado, melted cheese, and crisp bread for a quick, flavorful twist on the classic.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 slices firm bread sourdough, multigrain, rye, or brioche
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 teaspoon lemon or lime juice
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: pinch garlic powder or chili flakes
  • 4 slices cheese cheddar, mozzarella, provolone, pepper jack, or your favorite or 1 cup shredded
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter or mayonnaise
  • Optional add-ins: tomato slices spinach or arugula, cooked bacon or turkey, pesto, sriracha, jalapeños

Instructions
 

  • Mash avocado with lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Add garlic powder or chili flakes if desired.
  • Spread mash on two bread slices, top with cheese and extras like tomato or spinach. Close with remaining bread.
  • Spread butter or mayo on the outside of both slices.
  • Cook in a skillet over medium heat, 3–4 minutes per side, until golden and cheese is melted.
  • Let rest briefly, slice, and enjoy warm.
