White Queso Dip (Mexican Cheese Dip)

This creamy, cheesy White Queso Dip is loaded with flavor and just the right hint of spice.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb white American cheese shredded or cubed
  • ½ cup whole milk add more for desired consistency
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz can diced green chilies drained
  • 1 small jalapeño, finely diced optional
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped fresh cilantro for garnish optional
  • Tortilla chips for serving

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine shredded cheese, milk, and heavy cream, stirring until the cheese melts.
  • Add green chilies, jalapeño (if using), garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
  • Cook over low heat, stirring frequently, until smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency with a splash of milk if needed.
  • Season with salt to taste and remove from heat. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
  • Serve immediately with tortilla chips and enjoy warm.
