White Cheddar Mac And Cheese

Creamy, rich, and full of bold white cheddar flavor, this stovetop mac and cheese is the perfect comfort food made with simple ingredients in under 30 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 3 cups shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups medium pasta shells measured uncooked
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder optional
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • Fresh black pepper for garnish, optional

Instructions
 

  • Boil pasta shells until al dente, then drain and set aside. Return the empty pot to low heat, add butter, and let it melt fully.
  • Whisk in flour, garlic powder (optional), salt, and pepper. Cook for 1–2 minutes until smooth and bubbling.
  • Slowly whisk in milk. Raise heat to medium and cook for 3–5 minutes until the sauce thickens and gently bubbles.
  • Turn off heat, add shredded white cheddar, and stir until smooth and creamy. Stir in the cooked pasta until each shell is coated in cheese sauce.
  • Spoon into bowls and top with freshly cracked black pepper, if desired.
