Vegan Chickpea Bites With A Zesty Garlic Dip

These Vegan Chickpea Bites are crispy, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. Made with chickpeas, fresh herbs, and warm spices, they’re the perfect plant-based snack or appetizer. Paired with a creamy, zesty garlic dip, they bring a delicious balance of crunch and tangy goodness.

Ingredients
  

  • 15 oz chickpeas
  • ½ cup chickpea flour
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • ¼ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp coriander powder
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Vegetable oil
  • ½ cup vegan mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp chopped fresh dill

Instructions
 

  • Blend the chickpea mixture: In a food processor, pulse chickpeas, chickpea flour, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, turmeric, salt, and black pepper until a coarse mixture forms.
  • Shape the bites: Scoop the mixture and form small balls or patties. If too dry, add a teaspoon of water; if too wet, sprinkle in more chickpea flour.
  • Heat the oil: In a deep skillet or pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Test by dropping a small piece of batter—if it sizzles and rises, it's ready.
  • Fry until crispy: Fry the bites in batches for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Drain and cool: Transfer the fried bites to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  • Make the zesty garlic dip: Whisk vegan mayonnaise, garlic, lemon juice, and dill in a small bowl. Season with salt and black pepper.
  • Serve: Enjoy warm chickpea bites with the garlic dip, garnished with parsley or a sprinkle of paprika.
