The Best Guacamole Recipe
Creamy, ripe avocados with fresh jalapeño, garlic, and sweet onion for a delicious Guacamole that’s hard to resist.
- 1 jalapeño finely chopped
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 5-6 small avocados ripe
- Juice of 1/2 lime + more to taste
- 1/2 finely chopped sweet onion soaked in cold water for 10 minutes
- 1 tomato chopped
- 1/2 tbsp cilantro chopped
Grind the jalapeño and garlic in a mortar and pestle to form a paste.
Cut the avocados into cubes and place them in a bowl. Add the jalapeño-garlic paste, salt, and lime juice.
Mash the avocado mixture with a fork, leaving some chunks for texture.
Add the chopped onion, tomato, and cilantro. Mix until combined.
Squeeze more lime juice on top to prevent browning.
Cover tightly with plastic wrap, pressing it against the surface of the guacamole.
