Tennessee Onions Cheesy Bake
A rich, cheesy baked onion dish featuring sweet onion slices layered with melted cheese, butter, and herbs, baked until golden and tender.
Cheeses
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Seasonings and Garnish
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme or oregano
- Chopped parsley optional
Other
- 4 tablespoons butter melted
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Peel and slice onions into ¼-inch rounds, then separate into rings.
Grease a baking dish and arrange onion slices evenly in a single layer.
Mix cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan in a bowl.
Sprinkle the cheese mixture evenly over the onions.
Drizzle melted butter and season with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and herbs.
Cover loosely with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Let rest for 5 minutes, then garnish with parsley and serve.
