Swedish Meatball Pasta Bake

This Swedish Meatball Pasta Bake combines tender meatballs, creamy sauce, and gooey melted cheese for a cozy, crowd-pleasing dish.

Ingredients
  

For the meatballs:

  • 1 egg
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp allspice
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg

For the bake:

  • 12 oz wide egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°f (175°c).
  • Cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, and sauté until soft.
  • In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, salt, pepper, allspice, and nutmeg. Form small meatballs.
  • Brown meatballs in the skillet, then pour in broth, cream, and flour mixture. Simmer until thickened.
  • In a baking dish, combine noodles and meatballs. Top with mozzarella, bake for 25-30 minutes. Garnish with parsley.
