Strawberry Shortcake Puppy Chow
A fun and easy twist on a classic snack, Strawberry Shortcake Puppy Chow combines crispy Chex cereal with a sweet strawberry coating, creamy white chocolate, and an optional sprinkle of crushed strawberries for an extra fruity punch.
- 5 cups Rice Chex cereal
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- ½ cup additional white chocolate chips
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 big box strawberry gelatin mix
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries crushed (optional)
Place the Rice Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate chips and butter in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
Pour the mixture over the cereal and toss gently until evenly coated.
In another bowl, mix strawberry gelatin and powdered sugar, then add to a large resealable bag. Transfer the coated cereal into the bag, seal, and shake until fully covered.
Spread on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool and harden. Sprinkle with crushed freeze-dried strawberries if desired, then store in an airtight container.
