Strawberry Shortcake Puppy Chow
A fun and easy twist on a classic snack, Strawberry Shortcake Puppy Chow combines crispy Chex cereal with a sweet strawberry coating, creamy white chocolate, and an optional sprinkle of crushed strawberries for an extra fruity punch.
Ingredients
- 5 cups Rice Chex cereal
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- ½ cup additional white chocolate chips
- ¼ cup unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 big box strawberry gelatin mix
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup freeze-dried strawberries crushed (optional)
Instructions
- Place the Rice Chex cereal in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate chips and butter in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour the mixture over the cereal and toss gently until evenly coated.
- In another bowl, mix strawberry gelatin and powdered sugar, then add to a large resealable bag. Transfer the coated cereal into the bag, seal, and shake until fully covered.
- Spread on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool and harden. Sprinkle with crushed freeze-dried strawberries if desired, then store in an airtight container.
