Strawberry Pie Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pre-baked pie crust 9-inch
  • 4 cups fresh strawberries hulled and halved
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Whipped cream optional, for serving

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the filling: In a saucepan, combine sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, salt, and water. Stir over medium heat until it thickens and becomes translucent.
  • Mash strawberries: Mash half of the strawberries in a bowl, leaving the rest whole. Add the mashed strawberries to the thickened mixture and stir well.
  • Assemble the pie: Pour the strawberry mixture into the pre-baked pie crust, spreading evenly. Place the whole strawberries on top, arranging them decoratively.
  • Chill: Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours or until the filling is set.
  • Serve: Top with whipped cream before serving for an extra indulgent treat.
