Strawberry Cheesecake Donuts

Strawberry Cheesecake Donuts are soft, golden donuts filled with a sweet strawberry compote and dipped in a creamy cheesecake glaze for a bakery-style treat made at home.

Ingredients
  

For the Donuts

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter
  • Oil for frying

For the Strawberry Filling

  • 1 cup strawberries chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

For the Cheesecake Glaze

  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons milk

Instructions
 

  • Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until smooth and well combined.
  • Whisk milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter in a separate bowl until blended.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, stirring gently until a soft dough forms; add flour if too sticky.
  • Roll the dough ½ inch thick and cut into donut shapes, then place on parchment.
  • Fry at 350°F for 1 to 2 minutes per side until golden and slightly puffed, then drain.
  • Cook strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice for 5 to 7 minutes until thick and jammy; let cool.
  • Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla, adding milk until thick and pourable.
  • Pipe strawberry filling into each donut through the side.
  • Dip tops into cheesecake glaze and let set before serving.
