Spicy Jalapeño Popper Mediterranean Ground Beef Stir Fry
A bold, spicy, and creamy Mediterranean-inspired stir fry featuring seasoned ground beef, fresh peppers, and a rich jalapeño popper-style sauce. Perfect for serving with pita, rice, or fresh veggies!
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 small onion
- cloves garlic
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1-2 jalapeños
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp cumin
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- 4 oz cream cheese
- ½ cup Greek yogurt (or sour cream)
- ½ cup shredded feta or mozzarella cheese
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley
- Warm pita bread or naan
- Cooked rice, couscous, or quinoa
- Sliced cucumbers and cherry tomatoes
Cook the Beef: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Brown for 6-7 minutes, then drain excess fat if needed.
Sauté the Vegetables: Add onion, garlic, red bell pepper, and jalapeños. Cook for 3-4 minutes until softened. Stir in smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for another 2 minutes.
Make the Sauce: Reduce heat to low. Stir in cream cheese, Greek yogurt, and shredded feta or mozzarella until smooth and creamy. Mix in lemon juice and fresh parsley.
Serve and Garnish: Spoon over rice, couscous, or quinoa, or tuck into warm pita bread. Garnish with sliced cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and extra parsley.
