Soft & Fluffy Brioche Bread

This Brioche Bread is rich, buttery, and irresistibly soft.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast
  • 4 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • cup milk warm
  • 1 egg yolk for egg wash
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and a pinch of sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Add eggs and yeast mixture. Mix until dough forms.
  • Gradually knead in softened butter, one piece at a time, until smooth and elastic.
  • Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down dough and divide into equal portions. Shape into balls or braids and place in a greased loaf pan. Cover and let rise for 45-60 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Brush dough with egg wash. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Cool before slicing.
