Soft Delia Smiths Fruity Scones
Delia Smiths Soft and Fruity Scones are light, tender, and filled with sweet dried fruit, perfect for breakfast, tea time, or a simple homemade treat.
- 225 g self raising flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 50 g butter softened
- 25 g caster sugar
- 50 g mixed dried fruit
- 1 large egg
- Milk to make 150ml total with the egg
Preheat oven to 220°C (200°C fan), line tray.
Mix flour and baking powder.
Rub in butter until crumbly.
Stir in sugar and dried fruit.
Mix egg and milk to 150ml.
Combine into soft dough, don’t overmix.
Roll to 2 to 3 cm, cut shapes.
Bake 10 to 12 minutes until golden.
Cool slightly, serve warm.
