Soft Christmas Cookies

Soft Christmas Cookies are buttery, tender, and lightly sweet, decorated with festive sprinkles or colored sugar. Perfect for holiday baking, family traditions, or gifting to friends.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup butter softened
  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Colored sugar or sprinkles for decorating

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until evenly combined.
  • Beat softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then mix in egg and vanilla.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  • Scoop dough into small balls, place on baking sheets, flatten slightly, and decorate if desired.
  • Bake 8–10 minutes until edges are lightly golden; cool 5 minutes on the sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
