Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread Recipe
This Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread combines crispy, buttery garlic bread with rich, saucy beef and gooey cheese—perfect as a quick dinner, appetizer, or hearty game-day snack.
For the Sloppy Joe Mixture:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- ¼ cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Garlic Bread:
- 1 baguette or French bread loaf sliced in half lengthwise
- 4 tbsp butter melted
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
- Fresh parsley chopped, for garnish
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and place it cut side up on a baking sheet. Brush the bread with melted butter and minced garlic. Toast for 10 minutes, until golden and crispy.
While the bread toasts, cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it browns (6-8 minutes). Drain excess fat, then stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer on low for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
Remove the toasted bread from the oven. Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture evenly onto the bread, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
Return the bread to the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Broil for 1-2 minutes for a golden top (watch carefully).
Let cool for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and slice into portions. Serve warm.
