Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread Recipe

This Sloppy Joe Garlic Bread combines crispy, buttery garlic bread with rich, saucy beef and gooey cheese—perfect as a quick dinner, appetizer, or hearty game-day snack.

Ingredients

For the Sloppy Joe Mixture:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the Garlic Bread:

  • 1 baguette or French bread loaf sliced in half lengthwise
  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • Fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the baguette in half lengthwise and place it cut side up on a baking sheet. Brush the bread with melted butter and minced garlic. Toast for 10 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  • While the bread toasts, cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it browns (6-8 minutes). Drain excess fat, then stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer on low for 5-10 minutes until thickened.
  • Remove the toasted bread from the oven. Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture evenly onto the bread, then sprinkle with shredded cheese.
  • Return the bread to the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Broil for 1-2 minutes for a golden top (watch carefully).
  • Let cool for 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and slice into portions. Serve warm.
