Sausage, Gravy, And Biscuit Pie

With its layers of savory sausage, creamy gravy, and fluffy biscuits, Sausage, Gravy, and Biscuit Pie is a comforting and delicious meal that’s perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients
  

For the sausage and gravy:

  • 1 lb ground breakfast sausage
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • cup all-purpose flour
  • cups whole milk
  • ½ tsp salt adjust to taste
  • ½ tsp black pepper

For the biscuit topping:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 6 tbsp cold butter cubed
  • ¾ cup whole milk

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 9-inch pie dish or oven-safe skillet.
  • Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium heat until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Melt butter in the same skillet, stir in flour, and cook for 1–2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk, cooking until thickened. Season with salt and pepper, then stir in cooked sausage.
  • Transfer the sausage gravy to the prepared dish.
  • For the biscuit topping, combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Cut in butter until crumbly, then stir in milk to form a dough.
  • Drop spoonfuls of biscuit dough over the gravy, covering it evenly.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
