Sausage Cream Cheese Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole
This Sausage Cream Cheese Tater Tot Casserole is creamy, cheesy, and packed with savory sausage, topped with crispy tater tots—ideal for easy weekend or holiday brunches.
- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 6 large eggs
- ½ cup milk
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp garlic powder optional
- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups frozen tater tots
- Chopped chives or green onions optional garnish
Set the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess fat, then stir in softened cream cheese until smooth. Remove from heat.
Whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder (optional) in a bowl.
Spread the sausage mixture evenly in the dish. Pour the egg mix over it, then top with cheddar and mozzarella. Arrange tater tots in a single layer on top.
Bake for 40–45 minutes until eggs are set and tater tots are golden.
Cool for 5–10 minutes, then garnish with chopped chives or green onions if desired. Slice and enjoy.
