Pizza Tater Tot Casserole
A comforting casserole layering seasoned ground meat, pizza sauce, tater tots, cheese, and pepperoni—baked until bubbly and perfect for busy weeknights.
Base:
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- ½ onion chopped
- 1 15 oz can pizza or marinara sauce
Seasonings:
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
Toppings:
- 32 oz frozen tater tots
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ½ cup pepperoni slices optional
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese optional
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Cook ground beef and onion in a skillet until browned, about 6–8 minutes. Drain fat.
Stir in pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.
Spread meat mixture in a greased or lined 9×13 baking dish.
Sprinkle half the mozzarella over the meat. Arrange tater tots on top.
Bake uncovered for 25–30 minutes until tots are golden and crispy.
Add remaining mozzarella and optional pepperoni. Bake 5 more minutes. Sprinkle with Parmesan if using, then serve.
