Pizza Grilled Cheese
Pizza Grilled Cheese is the ultimate comfort food fusion—crunchy, golden bread layered with gooey mozzarella, zesty pepperoni, and garlic-herb butter, served with warm pizza sauce for dipping.
- ½ cup unsalted butter very soft
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 8 slices white sandwich bread
- 12 slices mozzarella cheese
- 6 ounces pepperoni about 48 slices
- Warm pizza sauce for dipping
Make the garlic butter: In a bowl, mix softened butter, Parmesan, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning until smooth.
Prep the bread: Spread the garlic butter on one side of each bread slice. Place them butter-side up on a baking sheet.
Build the sandwich: Heat a skillet over medium-low. Place one slice of bread butter-side down in the pan. Layer mozzarella, 6 pepperoni, another mozzarella slice, 6 more pepperoni, a third mozzarella slice, then top with another bread slice, butter-side up.
Grill to perfection: Cook for 3–5 minutes until the bottom is golden and crisp. Flip carefully and grill the other side until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
Serve with sauce: Let it rest for 1 minute, then slice and serve hot with warm pizza sauce for dipping.
