Pepperoni Pizza Burger

A creative twist on traditional comfort food, these burgers will satisfy cravings for both pizza and burgers in one bite!

Ingredients

For the crust:

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough 13.8 oz
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

For the filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup pizza sauce store-bought or homemade
  • cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Optional toppings:

  • Pepperoni slices
  • Sliced black olives
  • Diced bell peppers
  • Sliced mushrooms
  • Cooked bacon pieces

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish with olive oil.
  • Roll out the pizza dough and press it into the pie dish, trimming any excess.
  • Use a fork to poke holes in the bottom to prevent bubbling. Partially bake the crust for 5-7 minutes, then set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  • Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened (about 3 minutes). Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir in the pizza sauce and remove from heat.
  • Spread half of the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese on the partially baked crust. Spoon the beef mixture evenly over the cheese layer.
  • Add optional toppings like pepperoni, olives, or bell peppers. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top.
  • Bake the assembled pie for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden brown. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
