Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish with olive oil.
Roll out the pizza dough and press it into the pie dish, trimming any excess.
Use a fork to poke holes in the bottom to prevent bubbling. Partially bake the crust for 5-7 minutes, then set aside.
In a large skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
Add the onion and garlic, cooking until softened (about 3 minutes). Season with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir in the pizza sauce and remove from heat.
Spread half of the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese on the partially baked crust. Spoon the beef mixture evenly over the cheese layer.
Add optional toppings like pepperoni, olives, or bell peppers. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top.
Bake the assembled pie for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden brown. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
