In a bowl, mix the cake mix, orange juice, vegetable oil, eggs, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and lump-free.
Pour the batter into the pan(s) and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, then mix in vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice until fluffy.
Once cooled, spread the frosting on top. For layered cakes, frost between layers and the top and sides. Optionally, drizzle with orange cream glaze.
Slice and serve. Garnish with orange slices or zest for extra flair.
