Old School Pizza Burgers

Old School Pizza Burgers are quick, cheesy beef sandwiches with pizza sauce—perfect for weeknights or casual family meals.

Ingredients

  • 450 grams ground beef
  • 240 milliliters pizza sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 6 burger buns halved
  • 170 grams shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat to 175°C (350°F) so the buns bake evenly without drying out.
  • Brown beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for 6–8 minutes, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  • Stir in Italian seasoning and pizza sauce. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened and fragrant.
  • Arrange bun halves, cut-side up, on a baking tray. No need to toast—oven will crisp them perfectly.
  • Spoon beef mixture over buns and top generously with shredded cheddar.
  • Bake for 12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly. For a crispier top, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end.
  • Cap each with the top bun, rest for a minute, and serve warm.
