Old-Fashioned Custard Pie

If you’re craving a classic dessert that’s both comforting and simple, look no further than this Old-Fashioned Custard Pie.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 unbaked pie shell deep dish
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp nutmeg plus more for garnish
  • 2⅔ cups milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
  • In a large bowl, lightly beat the eggs. Add sugar, salt, nutmeg, and milk, mixing well until combined. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Pour the custard mixture into the unbaked pie shell, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is lightly golden. (A knife inserted in the center should come out clean)
  • Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely.
  • Before serving, sprinkle the top with some nutmeg for added flavor.
