Mexican Christmas Cookies

Mexican Christmas Cookies are buttery, melt-in-your-mouth treats coated in cinnamon sugar. Easy to make, festive, and perfect for sharing during the holidays.

Ingredients
  

For the Dough

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract or ½ tsp almond extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp baking powder

For the Coating

  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment.
  • Beat butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in vanilla or almond extract.
  • Combine flour, cinnamon, salt, and baking powder; add to butter mixture to form dough.
  • Shape into 1-inch balls or use cookie cutters.
  • Bake 12–15 minutes until lightly golden.
  • Toss warm cookies in cinnamon-sugar to coat.
  • Cool on a rack and serve or store in an airtight container.
