Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

A hearty low carb casserole inspired by the classic Philly cheesesteak, combining savory beef, peppers, onions, cream cheese, and melted provolone for a comforting oven baked dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef or thinly sliced steak
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 small onion sliced
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or mozzarella cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional garlic powder
  • Optional sliced mushrooms or hot peppers

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) so it’s ready for baking.
  • Cook ground beef or sliced steak in a skillet over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, then drain excess fat.
  • Add sliced bell pepper and onion and cook about 5 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  • Stir in cream cheese with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using, mixing until creamy and well combined.
  • Lightly grease a baking dish and spread the meat mixture evenly inside.
  • Sprinkle shredded provolone or mozzarella on top and add optional mushrooms or hot peppers if desired.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes until the cheese melts and becomes bubbly and lightly golden.
  • Let the casserole rest 3–5 minutes before serving so it sets slightly.
