  • 1 stick butter softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Cream together softened butter and sugar using an electric mixer until fluffy, approximately 3 minutes.
  • Add eggs and vanilla to the mixture and mix well by hand until thoroughly combined.
  • Stir in cocoa powder, salt, and flour by hand until the batter is well combined. Mixing by hand helps maintain a gooey texture; avoid using a mixer to prevent a cake-like consistency.
  • Grease an 8-inch pie pan with butter or cooking spray.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pie pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Step 6: Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the center is set. The pie should have a gooey, fudgy texture when done.
