Honey Garlic Pork Ribs

With garlic and honey coating crispy deep-fried ribs, this dish delivers bold flavors and satisfying textures.

Ingredients

  • 2.6 lbs pork riblets (1.2 kg)
  • 1 bulb garlic minced (adjust based on your love for garlic)
  • 5 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp white sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 4 ¼ cups oil for deep-frying (1 liter)

For the marinade:

  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup cornstarch enough to coat the ribs

Instructions

  • Marinate the ribs with light soy sauce, sugar, and garlic powder. Set aside for 30 minutes.
  • Add cornstarch to the marinated ribs, ensuring that each piece is completely coated.
  • Heat oil for deep frying to 160°C (325°F). Fry the ribs in batches for 3-5 minutes. Do not overcrowd the pan.
  • Remove the ribs from the oil and heat the oil to 200°C (400°F). Fry the ribs again until they turn golden brown (about 1 minute).
  • In a wok, heat 2 tbsp oil over medium-high heat. Add the minced garlic and fry until golden.
  • Stir in sugar, salt, and honey. Mix well, then toss the ribs into the wok and coat them thoroughly with the sauce.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve and enjoy!
