Homemade Chocolate Cobbler

This homemade chocolate cobbler makes its own rich, gooey sauce as it bakes. It’s warm, fudgy, and easy to make with basic ingredients—perfect for cozy nights or when you want something sweet fast.

Ingredients
  

For the Batter:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup milk
  • cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Topping:

  • ½ cup sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • cups hot water

Instructions
 

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease an 8x8-inch baking dish.
  • Whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. Stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth.
  • Spread the batter evenly into the greased dish.
  • Mix white sugar, brown sugar, and cocoa. Sprinkle over the batter—don’t stir.
  • Gently pour 1½ cups hot water over the top. Do not stir.
  • Bake uncovered for 35–40 minutes, until the top is set and the sauce is bubbling.
  • Let sit for 5–10 minutes. Serve warm with the gooey sauce spooned over each portion.
