Homemade Apple Crumble

This easy homemade apple crumble is a warm, cozy dessert made with tender spiced apples and a golden oat topping. Perfect for busy weeknights, holidays, or just-because baking.

Ingredients
  

For the Apple Filling:

  • 6 large apples peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg

For the Crumble Topping:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch baking dish.
  • Toss sliced apples with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well coated.
  • Spread the apple mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • In a separate bowl, mix flour, oats, brown sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until the mixture forms coarse crumbs.
  • Sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples without pressing it down.
  • Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the topping is golden and the filling is bubbling.
  • Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.
