Green Bean Tater Tot Casserole
A comforting twist on the classic green bean casserole, this Green Bean Tater Tot Casserole layers creamy mushroom sauce, tender green beans, crispy fried onions, melted cheese, and a golden tater tot topping perfect as a hearty main or festive side for Thanksgiving or any cozy gathering.
- 10.5 ounces condensed cream of mushroom soup
- ½ cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- ½ tablespoon garlic powder
- ½ tablespoon onion powder
- 16 ounces canned cut green beans drained
- 2 cups French's fried onions
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese blend
- 28 ounces frozen tater tots
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Mix the creamy sauce with mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Add green beans & fried onions to the sauce mixture.
Pour into the baking dish and sprinkle half the cheese on top.
Arrange tater tots in neat rows over the cheese.
Bake for 35–40 minutes until tater tots are golden and crispy.
Add remaining cheese & fried onions, bake for another 5–7 minutes.
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
