Green Bean Tater Tot Casserole

A comforting twist on the classic green bean casserole, this Green Bean Tater Tot Casserole layers creamy mushroom sauce, tender green beans, crispy fried onions, melted cheese, and a golden tater tot topping perfect as a hearty main or festive side for Thanksgiving or any cozy gathering.

Ingredients
  

  • 10.5 ounces condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ tablespoon garlic powder
  • ½ tablespoon onion powder
  • 16 ounces canned cut green beans drained
  • 2 cups French's fried onions
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese blend
  • 28 ounces frozen tater tots

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Mix the creamy sauce with mushroom soup, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Add green beans & fried onions to the sauce mixture.
  • Pour into the baking dish and sprinkle half the cheese on top.
  • Arrange tater tots in neat rows over the cheese.
  • Bake for 35–40 minutes until tater tots are golden and crispy.
  • Add remaining cheese & fried onions, bake for another 5–7 minutes.
  • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
