Ingredients

  • 1 lb flank steak, sirloin, or ribeye
  • 10 oz fresh or dried noodles
  • 4 tsps soy sauce
  • 4 tsps unsalted butter
  • 2 tsps vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • ¼ cup beef broth or water
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Marinate the Steak: In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Add sliced steak, toss to coat, and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  • Cook the Noodles: Boil water and cook noodles according to package instructions. Drain, toss with a little oil to prevent sticking, and set aside.
  • Sear the Steak: Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak in a single layer for 1-2 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  • Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat. Sauté garlic and ginger for 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, beef broth, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Combine Everything: Add the cooked noodles and steak back into the pan. Toss for 1-2 minutes until evenly coated in sauce.
  • Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat, top with sesame seeds, green onions, red chili slices, or fresh cilantro, and serve hot.
