- 1 medium onion diced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 medium head of cabbage chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika optional, for extra flavor
- 2 tablespoons chicken broth or water optional, for softer texture
Cook chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp, then remove and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
Add diced onion and cook until softened and golden, then stir in garlic for a minute until fragrant.
Mix in chopped cabbage with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika if using, tossing to coat in the bacon drippings.
Cook 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender but slightly crisp, adding a splash of broth or water if you want it softer.
