Easy Chili (Wendy Copycat)

This rich, hearty chili is slow-cooked to perfection with bold spices and tender meat.

Ingredients
  

For the chili:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 lb ground pork or turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes 28 oz
  • 1 can tomato sauce 15 oz
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed 15 oz
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed 15 oz
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper

For serving:

  • Chopped green onions
  • Shredded cheese
  • Sour cream
  • Tortilla chips

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the beef, pork (or turkey), and onion for 5-7 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
  • Transfer the meat mixture to the crockpot. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, beans, broth, and all seasonings. Stir well.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  • Serve hot with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
