Easy Chili (Wendy Copycat)
This rich, hearty chili is slow-cooked to perfection with bold spices and tender meat.
For the chili:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 lb ground pork or turkey
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 medium onion diced
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 can diced tomatoes 28 oz
- 1 can tomato sauce 15 oz
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed 15 oz
- 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed 15 oz
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper optional
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
For serving:
- Chopped green onions
- Shredded cheese
- Sour cream
- Tortilla chips
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Brown the beef, pork (or turkey), and onion for 5-7 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 more minute.
Transfer the meat mixture to the crockpot. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, beans, broth, and all seasonings. Stir well.
Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
Serve hot with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
