Dill Pickle Grilled Cheese
This Dill Pickle Grilled Cheese is a tangy twist on the classic, featuring sharp cheddar, Swiss, and crunchy dill pickles between buttery sourdough slices. The perfect combo of savory and zesty in every bite.
- 4 slices sourdough or hearty white bread
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup shredded Swiss or Gruyère cheese
- ¼ cup sliced dill pickles
- 1 tsp pickle juice
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Pinch of red pepper flakes
Butter one side of each bread slice to create a crispy, golden crust.
On the unbuttered side, layer half of the cheddar cheese, followed by dill pickles, a drizzle of pickle juice (optional), Swiss cheese, and the remaining cheddar. Close with the buttered sides facing out.
Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Grill sandwiches for 3-4 minutes per side, pressing gently. Cover the skillet for the last minute for extra crispiness and melted cheese.
