Dark Chocolate Strawberry Jam
Dark Chocolate Strawberry Jam is a decadent, homemade spread that combines sweet strawberries with rich cocoa powder and dark chocolate balsamic vinegar. Perfect for toast, desserts, or just spooning straight from the jar!
- 6 cups chopped strawberries
- ⅔ cup cocoa powder
- ⅓ cup dark chocolate balsamic vinegar
- 1 package Sure-Jell pectin
- 1 tsp butter
- 7 cups sugar
In a large stockpot, combine chopped strawberries, dark chocolate balsamic vinegar, Sure-Jell pectin, and butter. Heat over high, stirring often to mix.
Once bubbling, stir in sugar and cocoa powder, ensuring the cocoa dissolves completely. Keep the heat in check to prevent burning.
Increase heat to high and bring to a rolling boil. Stir constantly for 1 minute, watching for thickening and deepening color.
Remove from heat. Ladle hot jam into prepared canning jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace. Clean the jar rims and secure the lids tightly.
Place jars in a boiling water bath or steam canner for 10 minutes. Ensure the water fully covers the jars.
Remove jars and place them on a kitchen towel to cool for 24 hours. The jars are sealed once the lid button stays down when pressed.
