Creamy Garlic Shrimp Over Mashed Potatoes is a comforting yet elevated dish, perfect for date nights or cozy dinners. Featuring juicy shrimp, velvety mashed potatoes, and a cheesy garlic cream sauce, it’s simple to make and packed with flavor.

Ingredients
  

Shrimp:

  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard optional
  • Fresh thyme for garnish

Mashed Potatoes:

  • 2 lbs potatoes peeled and cubed
  • ½ cup warm milk
  • ¼ cup butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Peel, cube, and boil potatoes until fork-tender (about 15 minutes). Drain well.
  • Mash with butter and warm milk until smooth. Season with salt. Cover to keep warm.
  • Toss shrimp with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Sear in a hot skillet for 2–3 minutes per side until pink. Set aside.
  • In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic. Add cream, Parmesan, and Dijon. Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened. Adjust seasoning.
  • Serve mashed potatoes topped with shrimp and garlic cream sauce. Garnish with fresh thyme.
