Cream Cheese Squares

Cream Cheese Squares are rich, gooey dessert bars with a buttery cake base and a creamy, sweet topping. Quick to prepare and easy to love, they’re perfect for casual gatherings, holiday spreads, or anytime you need a no-fuss dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 package cream cheese
  • 2 cups confectioner’s sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine yellow cake mix, eggs, and softened butter. Mix until smooth using a spoon or electric mixer.
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  • Evenly press the cake mixture into the bottom of the pan, smoothing it out with your hands or a fork.
  • In another bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, confectioner’s sugar, and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth.
  • Pour the cream cheese mixture over the base. Use a spatula to spread it evenly across the pan.
  • Bake for 35 minutes, until the top is lightly golden and set. The center should still feel soft.
  • Let cool completely. Slice into squares with a clean knife, wiping between cuts for neat edges.
