Cream Cheese Cookies
Cream Cheese Cookies are soft, tender, melt-in-your-mouth treats made with a creamy dough and optional frosting, perfect for holidays, celebrations, or simple everyday baking.
For the Cookies
- ½ lb butter softened
- 4 oz cream cheese softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Food coloring optional
For the Frosting
- 3 tablespoons butter softened
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 to 2 tablespoons milk
- Food coloring
Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment.
Beat softened butter and cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.
Add sugar and vanilla; beat until light and fully combined.
Mix in flour just until a soft dough forms (add a little extra flour if sticky; color dough if desired).
Roll into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on baking sheets.
Gently flatten tops with your palm or a glass.
Bake 12–15 minutes until edges are set and lightly golden.
Cool completely on wire racks.
Make frosting by beating butter, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth (add color if desired).
Frost cooled cookies and let the frosting set before storing.
