Cottage Cheese Crispy Onion Rings
Cottage Cheese Crispy Onion Rings are a lighter, oven baked twist on classic onion rings, combining creamy cottage cheese with savory seasonings to create a golden, crunchy coating without deep frying.
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 to 2 large white onions sliced into thick rings
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Optional paprika or everything bagel seasoning
Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Blend cottage cheese, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
Spoon 1 to 2 tablespoons onto the sheet, spreading into circles slightly larger than onion rings.
Place onion rings on top, pressing lightly to adhere.
Sprinkle Parmesan and optional seasonings evenly over each ring.
Bake 35 to 45 minutes until golden and crisp, rotating tray if needed.
Let cool at least 10 minutes before serving so they firm up.
