Cornbread Waffle Bites With Honey Butter Syrup
Cornbread Waffle Bites blend crispy edges with a soft, slightly sweet center. Drizzled with honey butter syrup, they’re irresistibly golden and rich.
- 1 cup cornbread mix
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 4 tbsp butter
- ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup cooked and crumbled bacon
- ¼ cup honey
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
Prepare the batter: In a bowl, whisk cornbread mix, buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until smooth. Fold in cheddar and bacon if using.
Cook the waffles: Preheat a mini waffle maker and lightly grease it. Spoon 1 tablespoon of batter into each section, close the lid, and cook for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Repeat with remaining batter.
Make the syrup: In a saucepan over low heat, melt butter with honey, maple syrup (if using), and a pinch of salt, stirring until smooth.
Serve: Arrange waffle bites on a platter, drizzle with honey butter syrup, and enjoy warm.
