Conchitas Con Carne (Mexican Hamburger And Shells)

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground sirloin
  • 2 cups uncooked shells
  • 4 oz tomato sauce
  • 1/4 small onion chopped
  • 1/4 bell pepper sliced
  • 4-5 cups water
  • 1 beef bullion cube
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Instructions
 

  • Brown the beef over medium heat in a Dutch oven. Drain any excess fat.
  • Add the pasta shells to the beef and stir, letting them fry a little with the meat.
  • Add the seasonings, chopped onions, and bell pepper. Stir everything together.
  • Pour in the tomato sauce and mix well. Break up the bouillon cube and stir it in until it dissolves.
  • Cover the mixture with water and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  • Cover the pot and simmer for another 10 minutes, until the shells are tender. Serve and enjoy!
