Classic Cabbage Soup

Cabbage Soup is a heartwarming, nutritious meal that’s simple to prepare and offers a burst of flavors from fresh vegetables and spices.

Ingredients

  • 1 large cabbage chopped
  • 2 small onions diced
  • 2 can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 pouch onion soup mix any flavor
  • 1 large celery stalk finely chopped
  • 1–2 lb ground beef
  • Salt, pepper, and additional spices e.g., garlic powder, paprika

Instructions

  • Prepare the cabbage by washing and chopping it into bite-sized pieces. Dice the onions and finely chop the celery.
  • In a large saucepan, fill halfway with water and bring to a boil over medium-high heat. Add the cabbage, onions, celery, and stewed tomatoes, then reduce heat to low to let vegetables simmer.
  • In a separate pan, cook the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat once the meat is fully browned.
  • Add the Onion Soup Mix to the simmering vegetables, stirring well. Season with salt, pepper, and additional spices as desired.
  • Add the cooked ground beef to the soup pot and mix thoroughly to distribute evenly with the vegetables.
  • Let the soup cook for an additional 5–10 minutes, allowing flavors to meld. Taste and adjust seasoning, then simmer for another 2–3 minutes before serving.
