Chocolate Gravy And Biscuits
Chocolate gravy and biscuits is a Southern classic, turning a simple breakfast into a rich, indulgent treat with velvety gravy and fluffy biscuits.
For the Chocolate Gravy:
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ¼ cup Hershey’s cocoa powder
- 2 cups milk
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp softened butter
For Serving:
- Warm biscuits homemade or store-bought
In a medium saucepan, whisk together 1 cup sugar, ¼ cup cocoa powder, and 3 tbsp flour until smooth and lump-free.
Gradually whisk in 2 cups milk, then heat over medium-high, stirring often. Once it boils, reduce the heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes, until thickened.
Remove from heat and stir in 2 tsp vanilla extract and 1 tbsp softened butter until smooth and glossy.
Split warm biscuits and spoon the chocolate gravy generously over them. Serve immediately.
