Chocolate gravy and biscuits is a Southern classic, turning a simple breakfast into a rich, indulgent treat with velvety gravy and fluffy biscuits.

Ingredients
  

For the Chocolate Gravy:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup Hershey’s cocoa powder
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp softened butter

For Serving:

  • Warm biscuits homemade or store-bought

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan, whisk together 1 cup sugar, ¼ cup cocoa powder, and 3 tbsp flour until smooth and lump-free.
  • Gradually whisk in 2 cups milk, then heat over medium-high, stirring often. Once it boils, reduce the heat to medium and cook for 5 minutes, until thickened.
  • Remove from heat and stir in 2 tsp vanilla extract and 1 tbsp softened butter until smooth and glossy.
  • Split warm biscuits and spoon the chocolate gravy generously over them. Serve immediately.
