Cheesy Spaghetti Sloppy Joes
Cheesy Spaghetti Sloppy Joes are a hearty mix of beef, marinara, noodles, and melty mozzarella served on garlic-toasted buns. A fun, filling twist on classic comfort food.
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- ½ cup yellow onion diced
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup spaghetti noodles broken into quarters
- 2 cups classic sweet basil marinara sauce
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp pepper
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 4 large hamburger buns
- ¼ cup garlic margarine or butter
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Cook ground beef with a bit of butter in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add diced onions and cook until beef is browned and onions are soft.
Drain excess grease. Pour in 2 cups of water and bring to a simmer.
Break spaghetti into quarters, add to the pan, cover, and steam for 4 minutes.
Uncover and stir to separate any clumps for even cooking.
Stir in marinara, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Lower heat to simmer.
Spread garlic margarine on bun halves. Bake at 400°F for 4–6 minutes until golden.
Add mozzarella to the skillet. Stir until melted and evenly mixed.
Pile the cheesy spaghetti mix onto toasted buns. Serve warm.
