Cheesy Spaghetti Sloppy Joes

Cheesy Spaghetti Sloppy Joes are a hearty mix of beef, marinara, noodles, and melty mozzarella served on garlic-toasted buns. A fun, filling twist on classic comfort food.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • ½ cup yellow onion diced
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup spaghetti noodles broken into quarters
  • 2 cups classic sweet basil marinara sauce
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 4 large hamburger buns
  • ¼ cup garlic margarine or butter
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  • Cook ground beef with a bit of butter in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add diced onions and cook until beef is browned and onions are soft.
  • Drain excess grease. Pour in 2 cups of water and bring to a simmer.
  • Break spaghetti into quarters, add to the pan, cover, and steam for 4 minutes.
  • Uncover and stir to separate any clumps for even cooking.
  • Stir in marinara, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder. Lower heat to simmer.
  • Spread garlic margarine on bun halves. Bake at 400°F for 4–6 minutes until golden.
  • Add mozzarella to the skillet. Stir until melted and evenly mixed.
  • Pile the cheesy spaghetti mix onto toasted buns. Serve warm.
