Cheesy Ground Beef Gorditas
Ground Beef Gorditas feature soft corn pockets filled with seasoned beef, melted cheese, and fresh toppings, cooked on the stovetop for a satisfying and filling meal.
For the gorditas
- 2 cups masa harina
- 1½ cups warm water
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon oil
For the filling
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
For serving
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 small tomato diced
- Optional sour cream or salsa
Mix masa harina, salt, water, and oil into a soft dough. Divide into 6 discs.
Cook gorditas on a dry skillet 2–3 minutes per side until lightly golden.
Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
Add spices and cook 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
Slice each gordita halfway to form a pocket.
Fill with beef, cheese, lettuce, and tomato.
Serve warm with sour cream or salsa.
