- 1 baguette or thick loaf of French bread
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
- 3-4 cloves garlic minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese optional
